After playing the independent field for the last several years, Tyga is ready to get a “Taste” of what a major label feels like again. On Tuesday (Oct. 15), Columbia Records announced that the “Rack City” MC joined their roster after signing a multi-million dollar deal.
Last year, Tyga had a strong comeback, courtesy of his hit single “Taste.” The six-times platinum record zoomed into the top 10 of the Hot 100 and peaked at No. 8. Earlier this year, he released his new album Legendary via his Last Kings imprint and EMPIRE. Legendary boasted features from Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Gunna.

“I mean, I think as an artist you always feel like you want more praise. We love great feedback and praise from the fans,” he said. “Ultimately it all helps inspire us, and it helps our ego as far as creating that world in the studio. It makes you believe in yourself more and be vocal about it.”
