“Change Happens at My Pace.” Can you you guess what that stands for? That’s the acronym of fast-rising rap artist C.h.a.m.p aka Baby Debo. C.h.a.m.p came up with the name before he had the idea of being a rap artist. It wasn’t until he decided to make music, that he realized this phrase was an acronym for C.h.a.m.p. He then placed periods in between each letter, to give more emphasis to each word. Nathaniel Glen Miller Jr. from Mesquite, Texas is definitely making some noise in the rap game, with more than 100,000 streams on all platforms. His most streamed song “Baby Debo,” has accumulated 30,000 views on YouTube within one month of its release!
As of now, C.h.a.m.p has released two EPs, Paper Route and Yolo. Paper Route, C.h.a.m.p’s first EP, consists of bangers like Win, Lebron and Obsessed, while also having more heartwarming songs like Vibez and Feel So Right. His second EP Yolo also is versatile, as he includes crazy energetic songs like Baby Debo, but also shares personal tracks like Nights Like These and PTSD. His full album Therapy is set to be released in November. C.h.a.m.p says this album should address his life struggles and overall day-to-day lifestyle he lives, the highs and lows. C.h.a.m.p primarily maintains a smooth laid back delivery over funky beats and produces clever bars.
That is what makes him a standout artist! It is exciting to see what Mr. Baby Debo has in store for his fans in the future. I know personally I would like for him to drop songs more frequently, because he is a new, unique artist. Although after his full album Therapy is dropped, my C.h.a.m.p appetite should be fixed. C.h.a.m.p (Baby Debo) is definitely one of my favorite up-and-coming artists out right now.
