This artist out of Miami, Florida has a lot to offer, and much more to say in his music. He grew up in some of the toughest neighbors the city has to offer, but never letting that affect his mind. Most of the hostile things he witnessed in his life were during the years he lived in Miami Gardens (formerly known as Carol City). He even attended Rick Ross’ old school Carol City Middle and had a few classes with “Yung Miami” of the City Girls. He was released mainly by his grandmother, giving him values and morals. This prevented him from becoming a “Product of his environment”. He’s not street, or portraying a rugged lifestyle at all, he’s actually a laid back guy, but he does have the charisma necessary to make it out of any situation using his head, and carrying himself the right way. His vision is one to be trusted, simply due to his consistency and work ethics to make sure things are done right.
Currently James has 3 full albums under his belt, as well as 3 documentaries and 12 music videos in his catalog. Most of that came after he changed his name from “Democracy” to his government name ‘James Roan’. It was the best thing he could’ve done in his career thus far. In just two years, he made more progress than he has in the earlier part of his tenure as an artist. Aside from that, the majority of his visuals are self directed and edited by him. Showing he’s versatile as well other than just being an artist, he also loves to be involved in the film side of things. James loves to utilize his voice in a multiple of ways. Also, narrating a few commercials for cancer awareness, his own documentaries, etc. Polished lyrics, high level metaphors and wordplay is what separates him from the rest of his competitors. His song “What’s Up Now?!” was a success reaching 74,000 views on YouTube. It focuses on still becoming successful despite taking losses. He’s stated the song is a tribute to Busta Rhymes “Gimme Some More”.
His next project is set to be released sometime this year. It’s a collaborative effort with fellow Miamian and producers in “Richy B”. The album is titled Elements Of lIfe in which they’ve been promoting since April 2022. It will consist of roughly 13-14 songs and each song will bring a different emotion. Further pushing the narrative of “Elements” that makes us human. Some songs may favor love, addiction, happiness, anger, success and much more. The production has natural instruments along with unorthodox sounds which gives the duo a very distinctive sonic experience you’d get nowhere else. Be on the lookout as James proves to be one of the leading forces of the new generation with his message being “Bringing Real Hip-Hop Back”. We believe he will stick to his word. Once the mainstream audience grasps his music and visuals, James Roan will be a household name for a very long time.
